I) What are the five most advanced uses of analytics available today?



  a. Facial – Control of access more secure in portarias of condominiums.

   b. Vehicle and people flows – Traffic management of vehicles in avenues of large urban centers, and in the analysis of the behavior of people in places of great human movement such as malls and airports.

   c. Vehicle plates – Access control of vehicles in condominiums, tolls, and traffic violations.

  d. Container Codes – Container access control in bonded warehouses.

  e. Industrial Inspection – Quality control of products that require rigorous visual inspections.

  f. Cubed weight of packages – Dimensioning of packages on conveyors to identify their weights cubed in freight calculation.



II) What are the five most advanced uses of analytics that will be available in 5 years?




     a. Facial in Crowds - Access control of people in busy locations to identify suspects at sporting events, show tickets, etc.


    b. Tracking people using multiple cameras - Tracing people's trajectories in busy locations, integrating the person's ID into all installed cameras.

     c.  Vehicle fatigue - Identification of signs of fatigue in the driver of the vehicle, generating alarms to prevent traffic accidents.


    d. Vehicle and pedestrian flows integrated into traffic - Integrated management of vehicles and people that improves the rational use of traffic lights in vehicle and pedestrian traffic.


     e. Facial Expressions - Identifying facial expressions of people in front of shop windows, showrooms, art galleries, and relationship sites to measure their levels of satisfaction in each scenario.



III) How will the reality of video monitoring systems with analytical in 5 years?

    With the increased use of video cameras monitoring in large cities, video analysis will become even more necessary for identifying and signaling non-standard events to video system monitoring operators, making the success of their work more efficient . There will also be an expansion in the use of stand alone cameras with embedded video analysis, which associated with data transmission will be used to process video analysis and send data to the monitoring center, where it will be possible to consolidate information from the monitored events.



IV) How will the reality of video monitoring systems with analytical in 5 years?

   Universities have much to contribute to the evolution of video analysis systems. The emergence of new techniques or the evolution of existing processing techniques has contributed to the video analysis applications used in the world. Each year the universities produce several works in the field of computer vision that are used for the development and improvement of the applications of the market. Technical schools have been contributing to the training of specialized labor for the design and execution of network projects and installation of cameras in a more efficient and reliable way, producing better results with high availability in the use of video monitoring and analysis systems.



V) How it analyzes the possibility (current or future) of using these analytics on the camera?

   The analyst's current situation is still not very expressive in view of its great potential for use, due to the low capacity of the processors of the cameras, few options of embedded systems, and the lack of functions of data transmission in the cameras. However, with increased usage requirements, new cameras with higher processing power and data transmission will be manufactured, and more complete and efficient embedded applications will emerge. In the future video analysis application processing will be done on the installed cameras, and the monitoring centers will receive the results of these processing. Real-time monitoring will be done only on the critical cameras or on those indicated by alarms sent by the embedded applications.



VI) What are the differences between what can be done today with ACAPs and what can be done within 5 years in an embedded way with the involvement of the Academy?

    With the evolution of microprocessors, we believe that within 5 years we will have doubled the processing capacity of the cameras, so the ACAP platform will be expanded with more processing and memory to support more complex applications, being able to process information locally and transmit the results of the analysis of video to the monitoring center.



VII) What are the challenges to expand analytical use in South America?


     The use of analytics in South American countries has great potential, especially in the areas of public security and traffic control, however, the low investment power of these countries has been a limiting factor, however, with technological developments soon there will be cameras that support embedded processing with more competitive prices, enabling the expansion of these cameras in Latin America.
